Southern New Hampshire Exercise Helps Cope with Pain and Aging

October 05, 2021

"If you don't keep going, you're gonna die." Now, there’s a title to a research paper! New Hampshire Spine and Sport was even taken back a bit, but it is true. No matter your age, your pain, your life plan, we all have to keep moving forward! This is so real for middle- to older-age Southern New Hampshire back and neck pain sufferers. Luckily, New Hampshire Spine and Sport is here to help.

ANTI-AGING EXERCISE BENEFITS

We all start considering anti-aging benefits at a certain age! One set of researchers wrote that regular exercise has multi-system anti-aging effects and recommended more research to gather knowledge of just how molecular mediators of exercise benefits function in older folks rather than just looking for pharmaceuticals. (1) New Hampshire Spine and Sport wholeheartedly agrees! Walking is amazing! This a terrific message for all Southern New Hampshire pain sufferers!

BENEFICIAL DAILY EXERCISE STEPS

Take a walking stroll each day with a goal of 7000 steps. Why? Research. 2,110 black and white men and women and their steps-per-day counts were followed. They sported an accelerometer from 2005 to 2006 and then were monitored for a mean of 10.8 years. Their stats were examined in 2020 and 2021 to measure what, if any, association was made between steps-per-day and all-mortality death risk. This study was part of the larger CARDIA (Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults) study. Steps-taken-per-day were defined as “low” (less than 7000), “moderate” (7000-9999) and “high” (more than 10,000). Stepping intensity – stepping rate – played a role, too. Moderate/high step rate was associated with a decreased risk of mortality in black and white women and men in middle-age who took 7000 steps or more a day compared with those who walked less. (2) New Hampshire Spine and Sport witnesses how walking helps – 7000 steps or not – and urges Southern New Hampshire chiropractic patients to walk what they can. Any walk works!
